City: Urbana State/Prov.: IL Country: USA Occupation: Small business owner and licensed cosmetologist Website: www.themannequinsstudios. - com Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 1 What have you been doing for the last 10 years?: Playing, trying to have babies, working, and lots of other things. My husband (Don Chambers) and I have been married for 10 years, as of February 14th of this year (2008). Our daughter is 3 1/2 years young. She is our world. She is a great combination of her mommy and daddy. :oD From Laura: 12/7/09 - I'm back on FaceBook as Laura Chambers. It's hard to ignore an Alexa rank of #2. Yeah...I wasn't at the class reunion this year. When you're the mommy of a 4 year old little girl (who's a magnet), it's O.K. to stay with family instead of going out. I'm glad it was a fun time for all you. :oD ------------------------------------- If you have access to the Daily Illini newspaper, please check out an article about my husband and I in today's (Wednesday, September 24, 2008) edition. Thanks! ENJOY! :oD Here is the link: http://media.www.dailyillini.com/media/storage/paper736/news/2008/09/24/Diversions/Local.Artist.Draws.First.3D.Rural.Comic.Strip-3448154.shtml?reffeature=htmlemailedition I just have a few notes of correction to the written article though...Ariana is our daughter; Don and I both went to England together before Ariana was born; and we do not live in Champaign. |

City: Stanford State/Prov.: Montana Occupation: Teacher Website: www.harvestkennels.com Marital Status: Married What have you been doing for the last 10 years?: In 1997 my husband bought me a Springer Spaniel puppy for my birthday, and that began my love affair with breeding, training and hunting bird dogs. We now have an up and coming hunting kennel, with dogs hunting hard and holding place on the couches of America. At last count we have seven dogs as well as eight cats, three horses and three goats. Baaa. In 2006 we finally quit renting from various ranches in the community and bought a house in town (Stanford's population is roughly 450 on a busy day). We also bought acreage on the edge of town and have been busy this last two years building a barn, adding water lines and improving the property. I spend the summer traveling around Montana barrel racing (it's a losing proposition but such an adrenaline rush). I also have a garden big enough to feed an army; I consider it my summer fitness program. Mid summer we are both crazy busy with putting up custom hay as well as our own hay. In fall i hunt birds and deer and fill the freezer. In winter I spend my time using my degree in Elementary Education to sub at the local school. Springtime means starting it all over again. We have no children but we've been adopted by all the kids in town. We hire those kids who are too young for a "real" job but old enough to want spending cash to help out doing farm work and house chores. The beauty of taking in other people's children is that we can send them home at the end of the day. I also do a little writing, mostly for local horse publications and a few online ones. I enjoy it. My husband, Jay, is a retired/disabled Vietnam veteran (Semper Fi!) who shares most of my interests. He builds remote control airplanes in his spare time and holds down the couch quite well. I get back to Champaign every few years and I'm looking forward to next summer. From Gail: Wow, it's been 30 years? How did that happen? |

City: Greenville State/Prov.: NC Country: USA Occupation: Registered Nurse Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 2 What have you been doing for the last 10 years?: I graduated from nursing school in 1985 and worked as a hospital based nurse in Champaign for a few years before moving to Denver, CO with my husband, Richard (married 20 years). We moved around a lot in the beginning of our marriage (Bordeaux France, Denver CO, Sandy UT, and now living in the south - Greenville NC). The south was an adjustment, but it is now (after 12 years) home for us. We were blessed to have 2 children, Will, age 15 and Leanna age 10. I was able to stay home with them for 11 years. I loved every second of being a stay home mom. When my children were younger I got involved in Christian ministry for women/teens/children. I have been back to work now as a nurse for 4 years and am glad to say I am able to merge both nursing and ministry in my day to day environment both at home, at work and in our community. I am currently working as the Health Care Coordinator of an Adult Day Health facility that serves primarily low income, elderly and mentally challenged adults. It is rewarding working with this population of people and their caregivers. I have found in life I am happiest when I am doing something for someone else - it's just one of my gifts that I have learned to embrace. |

Birthday: June 11, 1961
City: Pensacola State/Prov.: FL Country: US Occupation: Medical Transcriptionist Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 3 What have you been doing for the last 10 years?: After high school I hung around PJC for a few years attempting to get a degree in something, anything, but unfortunately ‘party’ wasn’t a degree they offered, so I gave up and joined the Navy. I met my husband on the first day at my first duty station and we married just 4 months later. I gave up my Navy career after the birth of our first daughter to be a stay-at-mom/Navy wife. Gary and I have been married almost 26 years and have 3 children ages 24, 15, 12. When my youngest child started school I went back to school and became a certified surgical technician assisting hands-on in surgeries. My husband retired from the Navy in 2004. We’ve been living in Florida for the past 21 years and have been through our fair share of hurricanes. The worse was Hurrican Ivan in 2004. New Orleans and their Hurricane Katrina didn’t have anything on us. Ivan was just as bad for Pensacola with just as much damage and devastation, but since we’re not ‘on the map’ like New Orleans we didn’t get all the publicity and charity drives. I now do medical transcription at home. My oldest daughter got a degree in teaching. My 15 yr.old daughter is a typical redneck tomboy, and I say that with pride. She is into motocross (she currently rides a 125cc), shoots guns, fishes, loves NASCAR (we all do), and paintball . My 12 yr old son plays 5 instruments and is in both band and orchestra at school, is into computers & science. I love gardening as a way to relax. We have had our fair share of pets and currently have a Doberman and 2 Umbrella Cockatoos. My dream is to be able to start my own ‘Rescue’ for large parrots. |
